I want to highlight something this committee has been working through over the past several weeks and months, and that is developing an Environmental Statement to help direct the future decision-making of the town. And if you would entertain me, I wanted to read it this evening.
As noted in the statement, what we’re doing here is really laying the groundwork to consider the environment and other sustainable approaches when doing business in the town, whether that’s planning a regional community centre or upgrading our roads and other infrastructure. More information and actions will come as we solidify this as a priority for the Town.
Developing this environment statement was very much an interdepartmental approach within the town, from economic development to public works, and other areas. I want to thank staff for taking the lead on this work and determining how this work will impact the day-to-day operations of the town.
